When we launched our first eSIM comparison site back in 2023, our original goal was to list as many providers and products as possible. Find Your eSIM came out of what we learned since. A comparison is not useful because the list is long, but because you can trust what is on it and find your way through it.
eSIM providers rely on local networks, and plenty of other things decide what you actually get. So we carry a broad mix: premium providers, solid budget options and marketplace resellers. But breadth is not the point on its own. Some of the best-known brands in this market are not on this site, because they didn't clear the bar we set. The work goes into checking that a provider holds up before we list it, and into turning the small print into something you can filter on.
A little more about our focus
We want to make sure you're fully informed, so it's important to understand that our website is aimed at travellers looking for an alternative to high roaming costs. If you need extra data in your home country, or are planning to settle abroad (permanently or as an expat), our site might not be the best fit. If you're staying in one place for more than 2-3 months, we recommend checking local offers, as they could be a better option.
It's also key to note that if your destination is already included in your mobile plan (for instance, many providers include European destinations in their standard bundles), a travel eSIM may not offer any real benefit. Always check the terms and conditions of your own provider to see what's included in your plan.
How we select our partners
When we form partnerships, we ask ourselves: what added value does this provider bring? Is their service genuinely helpful to travellers like you? Does the provider offer competitive prices, a great user experience, and clear transparency? We're committed to offering you a selection that helps you save money without sacrificing service quality.
There are a lot of providers here, and that is on purpose. Rather than pick a handful for you and hide the rest, we let the filters do the narrowing: tell us the destination, the data and the days, and the list shrinks to what actually fits your trip. But breadth only works if there is a floor under it, and being popular, being cheap or paying us a good commission is not what puts a provider above it.
An "unlimited" plan that quietly stops at a daily cap. A connection that crawls because the data was meant for machines rather than phones. When a provider will not say what it is really selling, it cannot be compared and you cannot know what you are buying.
Leaving a provider out is not something we enjoy, and we do it with some reluctance. A longer list is easier to defend than a shorter one, and every name we drop is one you might have wanted to see. But a comparison that cannot compare has missed its own point. Anyone can publish a list without context.
This doesn't mean all of our partners offer the same level of quality or service. We recognise that 90% of travellers only need a reliable data connection, not a flashy app or added perks. That's why we aim to offer a diverse selection of both premium providers and reliable budget travel eSIMs.
We need our partners to be transparent. A provider that sells nothing but "unlimited" without saying what sits behind it, the daily allowance and the speed you drop to once it's gone, does not meet our criteria. It goes wrong in two directions. Either you find out when you're already abroad and the way out is stress and a second eSIM you shouldn't have needed, or you pay a premium for "unlimited" when a plain 10 GB plan would have covered your trip for less. A provider that resells data intended only for IoT devices, resulting in subpar quality for regular smartphone users, also doesn't make the cut.
Transparency has to hold on their side of the connection too. If a provider's systems expose other customers' personal or eSIM details to us, we don't list them, even when they appear on other comparison sites.
How we determine our recommendations
We follow a clear set of criteria and a thorough process to ensure our reviews are accurate and trustworthy:
- Our own hands-on experience and tests;
- Collaborations with other experts in the field;
- Information provided directly by the providers (via APIs, feedback, or tips);
- Ongoing online research;
- Feedback from our users.
Some of that work is done by the site itself. Where providers publish their fair-use figures, we don't just read them, we let you filter on them: how much full-speed data you get per day, whether a plan throttles at all, and the speed you drop to afterwards. It also decides what you're shown. Ask for 20 GB over seven days and an "unlimited" plan capped at 2 GB a day stays out of your results, because 14 GB before the brakes go on won't get you there.
That filtering runs on every destination page, so you meet it wherever you look. If unlimited is the only thing you want to see, Transparent unlimited is the shortcut: nothing but the unlimited plans whose provider states the daily full-speed allowance, compared on that number instead of on the word.
Where a provider shares it, we also show which local networks a plan runs on, with 4G and 5G marked per country, and where its traffic exits: a local breakout, or routed out through another country.
We do not add any providers that we haven't personally used at least once. On Find Your eSIM you will find 175,000+ eSIMs from 50+ providers, across 222 destinations and 27 regions. We haven't used each and every one ourselves, but we're constantly working to ensure we've personally tested and reviewed the options we recommend. Your privacy (really) matters to us
Good to know: we take your privacy seriously. We don't sell eSIMs ourselves, and we have no interest in processing your personal data. We use privacy-friendly analytics software (Plausible) and do not store or sell identifiable personal data.
There are no tracking pixels, no advertising tags and no visitor profiles on this site, and our analytics sets no cookies at all. We also don't do cookie stuffing, the trick where you are reading a review and a well-known hotel comparison site has quietly opened in another tab without you clicking anything. Nothing here opens a tab or drops a partner cookie unless you click a link yourself.
The only time we process identifiable data is when you reach out to us via email or our contact form, in which case we process the information you provide. Our partners also do not share personal data with us, meaning we cannot access your (potential) order with them. Please also read our Privacy Policy if this matters to you.
